Arrakis drilling returns a 3-metre included section grading 52.8g/t gold
Yandal Resources Limited (ASX:YRL) has reported further reverse-circulation drilling results from the Arrakis discovery within its Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project in Western Australia.
The results include:
- 20m at 8.7g/t gold from 84m in 26IWBRC0120, with an estimated true width of 13m, including 6m at 28.3g/t and 3m at 52.8g/t from 84m.
- 12m at 1.8g/t gold from 31m in 26IWBRC0119, with an estimated true width of 6m, including 2m at 2.7g/t from 31m and 3m at 4.9g/t from 39m.
- 10m at 1.6g/t gold from 114m in 26IWBRC0104, with an estimated true width of 8m, including 3m at 4.1g/t from 116m.
Yandal said the 26IWBRC0120 result is the highest-grade intercept recorded at the IWB Gold Project, while 26IWBRC0119 is the shallowest Arrakis intercept to date. The company cautioned that very high gold concentrations can artificially increase a downhole intercept through particle smearing during drilling or sample preparation, and said further drilling is required to assess whether this occurred.
Samples from another 10 RC holes, including three with diamond-core tails, are expected during August.

Yandal Resources Managing Director Chris Oorschot:
This is an exceptional result from a drill program specifically designed to uncover high-grade domains within the 1.3km striking Arrakis gold discovery. The headline result from 26IWBRC0120 represents the highest-grade interval returned to date within the IWB Gold Project.
These new results, combined with previous intercepts on the 6,550mN section, located 100m south, indicate the potential for an additional domain of high-grade gold mineralisation within the Arrakis mineralised structure. Further results and additional drilling will be required to confirm the geometry and continuity of the newly identified high-grade domain.
The results from 26IWBRC0119 have also returned the shallowest intercept to date at Arrakis, approximately 26m below surface.
Diamond core samples from 26IWBRC0121D located approximately 60m down-dip of the 26IWBRC0120 intercept are anticipated in late August.
