Second-phase aircore program intersects high-grade zones; only 25% of anomaly tested to date
Tambourah Metals Ltd (ASX:TMB) has reported high-grade gold results from follow-up drilling at its 100%-owned Beatty Park Sth project, located 160km north of Meekatharra, Western Australia.
The second phase of aircore drilling targeted extensions of a previously reported high-grade intersection from maiden drilling (BPAC016: 6m at 25.8g/t Au from 30m), with eight slimline RC holes completed for a total of 785m. Drilling tested areas immediately east and along strike from the earlier hit.
The best results from the follow-up campaign include:
- 24m at 18.8g/t Au from 20m (BPAC028)
- including 4m at 92.2g/t Au from 24m
- and 4m at 14.3g/t Au from 28m
- 3m at 3.7g/t Au from 44m (BPAC029)
- including 1m at 6.4g/t Au from 44m
- 3m at 6.6g/t Au from 60m (BPAC030)
- including 1m at 15.2g/t Au from 61m
Drilling intersected partly weathered chlorite schists with variable silica alteration and disseminated pyrite. All holes ended in fresh rock, suggesting proximity to a deeper gold-bearing structure. The mineralisation in BPAC028 was located in the saprolite zone near the oxidation boundary, while pyrite-associated gold intervals were recorded at greater depths in BPAC029 and BPAC030.
Importantly, the Beatty Park Sth target remains open both along strike and at depth. To date, only 25% of the 500m long soil anomaly has been drill-tested, highlighting the potential for further discoveries with additional drilling of both oxide and fresh rock targets.
