Drilling confirms shallow mineralisation; geophysics highlights down-dip potential at Marda Gold Project
Leeuwin Metals Ltd (ASX:LM1) has reported further shallow gold intercepts from drilling at the Evanston prospect within its Marda Gold Project in Western Australia. The latest results confirm near-surface mineralisation along a 1.6-kilometre trend and open the door to deeper targets following new electromagnetic data.
Standout intercepts from recent drilling include:
- 7m @ 3.55g/t gold from 17m, including 2m @ 7.85g/t gold from 21m (MGRC0065)
- 9m @ 1.36g/t gold from 13m (MGRC0054)
- 5m @ 2.01g/t gold from 32m (MGRC0077)
Down Hole Electromagnetic (DHEM) surveys have also identified multiple new anomalies, suggesting that gold mineralisation remains open along strike and down-dip. These targets will be tested in a new 10,000m reverse circulation (RC) drilling program commencing this month, focused on shallow step-outs and deeper extensions.
The company also flagged strong news flow ahead, with further drilling and a maiden mineral resource estimate for the Marda Gold Project planned. Leeuwin remains well-funded following a recent placement, supporting its ongoing exploration strategy.
Leeuwin Executive Chairman, Christopher Piggot, said:
The latest results continue to highlight Evanston’s strong potential, with multiple standout drill intercepts confirmed across 1.6km of strike. DHEM has revealed compelling down-dip extensions, pointing to the potential for a much larger mineralised system with significant growth upside. With a strong balance sheet and a major RC program set to restart at Evanston in the coming weeks, Leeuwin is positioned for a strong finish to the year. The exceptional results delivered across the broader project area this year will feed directly into the maiden resource for the Marda Gold Project.
