SHALLOW HIGH-GRADE GOLD HITS BOOST SPRING CREEK POTENTIAL

Cosmo confirms standout intercept of 6m at 9.99g/t gold from 11m depth in SCRC016

Cosmo Metals Ltd (ASX:CMO) has reported strong early results from its maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Spring Creek prospect within its 484.1km² Bingara Project in New South Wales.

The standout result from hole SCRC016 returned 6.0m at 9.99g/t gold from 11.0m, including a high-grade interval of 1.0m at 58.3g/t gold from 15.0m, confirming the presence of shallow, high-grade mineralisation.

Additional results from previous drilling programs were also confirmed:

  • 6.0m at 6.43g/t gold from 8.0m, including 2.0m at 17.59g/t gold from 12.0m (hole SC17)
  • 6.0m at 2.97g/t gold from 19.5m, including 3.0m at 5.51g/t gold from 19.5m (hole PDHSC10)

These initial five holes of a 13-hole, 1,045m RC program targeted the southern extension of prior mineralisation, with assays pending for the remaining eight holes. Hole SCRC026 was drilled down-dip of SCRC016, with results yet to be received.

The upcoming assays will test for:

  • Steep dipping feeder zones not previously intersected
  • The extension of a strong gold–arsenic soil anomaly identified in earlier exploration

Spring Creek lies centrally within the Bingara Project, along the untested 12km-long Star of Bingara to Lone Hand trend.

Cosmo’s Managing Director, Ian Prentice commented:
We are extremely encouraged by the initial results of our maiden drilling campaign at Spring Creek, which validate the shallow high-grade gold mineralisation immediately south of the locus of historic drilling and significantly enhance our understanding of the controls on mineralisation and the broader geological setting, as we step to the south of Spring Creek.

We are eagerly awaiting the balance of the results from this program and applying the learnings which will inform future drilling to the north of Spring Creek. We aim to unlock the potential of this high conviction target as well as the broader 12km long Star of Bingara to Lone Hand high intensity trend of historic workings, with no previous drilling recorded for the 4 – 5 km to the north and south of Spring Creek.
