Recent drill results from Maximus Resources confirm resource expansion potential at Eagles Nest in WA’s Eastern Goldfields.
Maximus Resources Limited (Maximus, ASX:MXR) has announced results from its recent Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program at the Eagles Nest gold deposit, located 7km south of its Wattle Dam Gold Project in Western Australia. The drilling has returned multiple shallow, high-grade intersections, confirming the prospectivity of the deposit for further exploration.
Key intersections from the program include:
- 10m @ 2.24g/t Au from 37m, including 2m @ 2.71g/t Au from 38m and 3m @ 3.88g/t Au from 44m (MXENRC059)
- 7m @ 2.01g/t Au from 22m, including 3m @ 3.21g/t Au from 26m (MXENRC058)
- 8m @ 1.73g/t Au from 44m, including 4m @ 2.71g/t Au from 44m (MXENRC062)
- 5m @ 1.87g/t Au from 77m, including 2m @ 3.05g/t Au from 78m (MXENRC054)
The program, which included 11 RC holes for 732m, targeted shallow mineralisation in previously untested areas, along with lateral extensions beyond the existing resource model. These results indicate that significant opportunities exist for resource growth and support the deposit’s economic viability.
The Eagles Nest deposit currently hosts a 42,500oz @ 2.0g/t Au resource with free-milling, non-refractory mineralisation, offering the potential for expedited mining scenarios. Its location on granted tenements with established infrastructure and toll-treatment options further enhances its development potential.
