April drilling returned multiple gold zones around the Goodenough resource, which remains open at depth and to the south.
Resources & Energy Group Limited (ASX:REZ) has reported assay results from nine reverse-circulation holes drilled at the Goodenough prospect within its East Menzies Gold Project in Western Australia.
The April 2026 program comprised 798 metres and tested resource extensions, infill positions and database quality-control targets. Results included:
- 9m at 3.97g/t gold from 141m in 26GERC031, including 1m at 25.5g/t and 2m at 1.28g/t
- 8m at 1.02g/t gold from 98m in 26GERC029, including 3m at 1.83g/t
- 2m at 2.17g/t gold from 39m in 26GERC034, including 1m at 3.18g/t
The intervals are reported as down-hole widths. REZ estimates true widths at about 80% to 100% of the down-hole lengths for the current April drilling.
Six holes drilled west-northwest of the March 2026 Mineral Resource intersected multiple near-surface mineralised zones. REZ said these results, together with other drilling and a new LIDAR survey, will support an updated Mineral Resource estimate for Goodenough.

A separately located, pre-2012 hole known as Unknown1 was resampled after its sample piles were identified in the field. It returned 5m at 3.30g/t gold from 72m, including 1m at 11.6g/t. REZ said the available quality-assurance information is insufficient for those assays to be used in a future resource estimate, although the result will inform geological interpretation and a twin hole is planned.
The company has started work on an updated JORC 2012 Mineral Resource estimate and is assessing near-term development and mining restart opportunities at Goodenough.
REZ Group managing director J. Daniel Moore:
We are delighted to see these drill results from our Goodenough prospect. Multiple new near-surface intercepts outside the current mineral resource estimate give us confidence we can grow the Goodenough deposit.
This focused drill program at Goodenough has confirmed extensions of gold mineralisation to the west-northwest of the mineral resource and verified significant gold grades along the interpreted extension of a synform plunging to the south.
The discovery of additional near-surface gold mineralisation at Goodenough is an exciting development for the company, elevating the prospect’s commercial appeal and sharpening our focus on unlocking its value.
