Clifton East drilling returns 3 metres at 7.78g/t gold, including 1 metre at 19.5g/t.
Augustus Minerals Limited (ASX:AUG) has reported its highest-grade drill result to date from the Clifton East prospect at the Music Well Gold Project in Western Australia.
Assays from the June 2026 reverse-circulation programme confirmed gold mineralisation across a 400-metre strike within a broader 1.2-kilometre gold-in-soil anomaly.
The company reported the following downhole intersections:
- 3m at 7.78g/t Au from 72m, including 1m at 19.5g/t Au from 73m in MWRC0019
- 5m at 1.38g/t Au from 39m in MWRC0015, within 12m at 0.94g/t Au
- 3m at 1.06g/t Au from 36m in MWRC0016
- 1m at 2.57g/t Au from 48m in MWRC0015
- 2m at 1.36g/t Au from 27m in MWRC0021
All reported widths are downhole widths and true widths are unknown.

Core from diamond hole MWD0001 has been submitted for assay, with results expected in five to six weeks. A further reverse-circulation programme targeting oblique higher-grade quartz veins is planned to start in two to three weeks, subject to access after recent rain.
Augustus Minerals general manager exploration Andrew Ford:
The June drilling confirmed that a significant alteration and gold mineralised system is present at Clifton East. The 19.5g/t single metre assay from 72m in MWRC0019 also illustrates the potential of the prospect to host higher grade veins. The dip and frequency of these veins within the broader mineralised zones will be tested with some new holes oriented to the northwest in the next few weeks.
