HIGHWAY ZONE DEEP DRILLING HITS GOLD

Odyssey Gold announces significant extensions below existing resources in latest diamond drilling results

Odyssey Gold Limited (ASX:ODY) has announced encouraging results from its diamond drilling program aimed at expanding the high-grade Highway Zone at the Tuckanarra JV Gold Project in Western Australia.

Key Outcomes:

  • Drilling Success: Two holes have confirmed the depth extension of the Highway Zone shoot, with significant gold intersections.
  • Notable Intersections:
    • 7.35m at 9.5g/t gold, including a high-grade segment of 3.25m at 20.6g/t gold.
    • 6.2m at 2.2g/t gold.
  • Depth Extension: These intersections are located 80 meters below the existing shallow Mineral Resource estimate.
  • Resource Potential: The high-grade shoot is open at depth, highlighting the potential for underground resource addition to the existing open pit resource.
  • Guided Drilling: Downhole electromagnetic surveying completed on the first two holes to direct further drilling.

Odyssey’s Managing Director, Matt Briggs, commented on the significance of these results:

Odyssey’s geologists have generated a robust model of stratigraphic and structural controls of mineralisation at the Highway Zone. The mineralisation is very predictable allowing us to successfully intersect the Highway Zone with diamond drilling up to 120m below previous drilling and 80m below the existing resource. These are the deepest two intersections ever drilled on the mining lease.

The intersections are 80m below the open pit resource demonstrating the potential for the rapid growth of underground resources on the mining lease in addition to the existing 376koz open pit resource announced in August.

The Highway Zone has consistent thick oxide intersections at surface. Extending beneath the oxide are high grade veins with strong plunge continuity as typical of deposits in the district. This is the first of a number of advanced underground targets to be tested in the Project area.

The results from the Highway Zone suggest a positive outlook for the underground resource expansion, which will be further explored through the project’s continued drilling efforts.
