Olympio prioritises drilling at Paquin East in Canada
Olympio Metals Limited (ASX: OLY) has identified the Paquin East prospect as a high-priority drill target at its Bousquet Gold Project in Quebec, Canada. The decision follows a review of historical drill results, which included significant high-grade gold intercepts.
Key Highlights:
- 9m @ 16.96 g/t gold recorded from historical drilling at Paquin East
- The prospect remains open along strike to the west, with minimal historical drilling
- Located on the Cadillac Break, a world-class gold and copper-bearing structure (>110 Moz gold)
- Within 15km of major gold mines, including Agnico Eagle’s La Ronde (15.8 Moz gold) and IAMGOLD’s Westwood (2.4 Moz gold)
- High-grade quartz-hosted veins with visible gold, similar to the nearby O’Brien Project (1.0 Moz gold)
- 24km² of contiguous tenure, covering 10km of the Cadillac Break
- Excellent road, rail, and hydroelectric infrastructure allowing year-round access
Olympio’s Managing Director, Sean Delaney, commented:
Exploring the western extension of the Paquin East prospect has emerged as a priority drill target for Olympio. A historical drill intercept of 9m @ 16.96 g/t Au occurs on the western margin of the prospect and yet it has only been followed up with a single hole 10m along strike. Knowing that coarse gold is a consistent feature of the Paquin mineralisation, and the observed pinch and swell nature of the host quartz vein systems at surface, there remains significant potential to expand the mineralisation envelope with drilling. We have submitted drillholes for permit approval and look forward to drilling in the Canadian summer (Q3 2025).
