Shallow, consistent results strengthen pathway to maiden resource at Leonora South
GoldArc Resources Limited (ASX:GA8) has reported high-grade gold assay results from reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its Eclipse prospect, part of the Leonora South Gold Project in Western Australia.
The 20-hole, 1,176m program was designed to test gaps, plunge orientations, grade variations, and strike and depth extensions of the Eclipse system. Results from 15 holes have now been received, confirming a shallow, structurally controlled gold system with continuity supportive of a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE). Assays from the remaining holes are pending.
Drilling returned multiple high-grade intercepts from shallow depths (12–46m), including:
- 4m @ 9.43g/t Au from 46m, including 1m @ 21.40g/t Au
- 9m @ 2.54g/t Au from 21m, including 1m @ 16.00g/t Au
- 5m @ 3.74g/t Au from 19m, including 1m @ 14.9g/t Au
- 7m @ 3.20g/t Au from 33m, including 1m @ 8.56g/t Au
- 8m @ 2.08g/t Au from 32m, including 2m @ 4.44g/t Au
The results support the presence of a robust mineralised system with consistent grade distribution across multiple drill holes. The program provides a foundation for resource modelling and initial pit optimisation studies, while samples will also be used for metallurgical test work.
Eclipse sits immediately adjacent to the Orion-Sapphire deposits, which host a combined 48,000oz at 2.2g/t Au, reinforcing the broader geological potential of the Leonora South project area.
Meanwhile, the RC rig has moved to the Orion prospect, where a ~6,500m drilling campaign is underway targeting depth and strike extensions in collaboration with Mineral Mining Services.
GoldArc Resources Managing Director, Paul Stephen
The Eclipse drilling results are exactly what we are looking for; high-grade intersections at shallow depth, consistent across multiple holes, with clear visual structural controls. An intercept like 4m @ 9.43 g/t Au including 1m @ 21.40 g/t Au, alongside 9m @ 2.54 g/t Au in an adjacent hole, tells us this is a real system with genuine resource potential.
Eclipse sits right next door to our Orio-Sapphire resource, providing a powerful combination for our Leonora South hub, and we are pushing hard toward a maiden MRE. Meanwhile, or RC rig has moved straight to Sapphire and our multi-front program at Leonora North continues. GoldArc has never been busier.
