Initial drilling at Duke of York and Duchess highlights promising gold potential
Cazaly Resources Limited (ASX:CAZ) has announced encouraging assay results from its initial reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at the Goongarrie Gold Project, located along the Menzies and Boorara Shear zones in Western Australia.
The company drilled eighteen holes totalling 1,917 metres, aiming to validate historical drilling and assess new prospective zones for gold mineralisation.
Key intercepts from the drilling include:
- 12 metres at 7.2 g/t gold, including 4 metres at 19.4 g/t gold from the Duke of York target, confirming historical high-grade results.
- 20 metres at 1.9 g/t gold, including 8 metres at 3.8 g/t gold from a newly identified target, named Duchess.
The standout results at Duke of York reinforce past drilling success, while the Duchess intercept points to a promising new gold-bearing zone.
Cazaly’s Managing Director, Tara French, commented:
I am very pleased that our first pass drill results have confirmed the historical drilling at Duke of York with 12m @ 7.2g/t, and our scout holes have successfully identified a new gold target at Duchess. 20m @ 1.9g/t and 8m @ 3.8g/t gold is a great start to our work on the ground at Goongarrie. Although it’s early days, with this new drilling information and reprocessed geophysics we are building our knowledge base in the area. Our upcoming aircore campaign will be an excellent preliminary test for new targets over 5 strike kilometres along the Menzies and Boorara Shear zones. We are just starting to uncover how much gold this belt has to offer.
