Due diligence at NSW project reveals shallow, thick and high-grade mineralisation
Thunderbird Resources Limited (ASX:THB) has reported highly encouraging results from ongoing due diligence at the Springfield Gold Deposit in New South Wales, indicating that the currently defined mineralisation may form part of a significantly larger gold system.
Key findings from historical drill core analysis and geological assessment have reinforced the project’s considerable exploration potential. Highlights from the due diligence include:
- Strong geological indicators pointing to the known mineralisation being part of a broader mineralised system.
- Potential for further mineralisation through systematic exploration.
- Exploration programs scheduled to begin in mid-November 2025.
As part of the work program, Thunderbird’s Executive Chairman and Senior Geologist completed a site visit and assessed core samples from two historical diamond holes drilled in 1999. Though only 6,568 metres of drilling has previously been undertaken, the project has delivered multiple thick and high-grade intercepts:
- 27.0m @ 3.65 g/t Au from surface, including:
- 6.0m @ 8.29 g/t Au from 1.0m
- 3.0m @ 9.23 g/t Au from 11.0m
- 86.0m @ 1.04 g/t Au from 104.0m, including:
- 12.0m @ 2.90 g/t Au from 160.0m
- 26.0m @ 1.83 g/t Au from 146.0m
These results, although based on historical drilling, point to substantial upside should the mineralised system extend beyond currently known zones.
