GORILLA GOLD EXTENDS SOVEREIGN FOOTWALL BEYOND 1KM

High-grade intersections outline an emerging footwall lode outside the existing Sovereign Mineral Resource.

Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd (ASX:GG8) has expanded the interpreted high-grade footwall system at its Sovereign deposit to more than one kilometre of strike through new drilling and a review of historical data.

The footwall position sits about 40 metres from the main Sovereign lode at the Comet Vale Gold Project, part of the company’s North Kalgoorlie Hub in Western Australia. Gorilla said the emerging system remains sparsely tested and is outside Sovereign’s existing Mineral Resource Estimate of 410,000 ounces at 4.3g/t gold.

Results and intersections referenced in the update include:

  • 2.8m at 31.0g/t gold from 379.1m in STEX226, a new intersection about 600 metres north along strike and 50 metres up-dip of STEX172
  • 0.6m at 86.2g/t gold from 99.4m in CVUG008, a previously unrecorded underground drill-hole intersection
  • 7.0m at 10.2g/t gold from 83.0m in STEX111A, resampled and re-reported under the revised interpretation
  • 9.3m at 20.6g/t gold from 414.8m in STEX172, previously reported in May 2026
  • 4.0m at 3.2g/t gold from 244.0m in STEX075, the southernmost referenced intersection in the footwall lode

Multiple rigs remain active across the North Kalgoorlie Hub, with drilling also restarted at the Vivien Project. Gorilla said assay results are expected on an ongoing basis, although laboratory turnaround times are slower than usual.

Gorilla Gold chief executive officer Charles Hughes:

This is another exciting development at Sovereign, following on from the outstanding intercept of 9.3m @ 20.6g/t Au in STEX172 which heralded the discovery of a significant new high-grade footwall lode back in May. Since then, a combination of new drilling, a review of historical underground drilling data and a major geological reinterpretation has significantly expanded this high-grade position to over 1 kilometre of strike.

The latest result of 2.8m @ 31.0g/t Au is approximately 600 metres north of the original discovery intercept in STEX172, while our review of historical data has unearthed a previously unreported intercept of 0.6m @ 86.2g/t Au along the same emerging trend.

When these results are combined with several other intercepts that our geological team has now linked to the same footwall position, this is emerging as a major new target for high-grade resource growth at Comet Vale.

This is exactly what our drilling and geological work across the North Kalgoorlie Hub is designed to achieve – not simply to extend known deposits, but to improve our understanding of these mineralised systems and identify new opportunities for growth. Drilling is continuing at pace across the North Kalgoorlie Hub, with the rigs also turning again at Vivien – positioning us for strong news-flow in the weeks ahead.
