GOLD V PLATINUM

Platinum tightening up in production. The squeeze is on.

How big can the rally of Gold and Platinum continue? Just starting? Yes I think so. GBA says yes.

David Mitchell from GBA, 11th October 2025:

Platinum on the Verge of Another Major Price Rally – Supply Crisis Intensifies
Silver Market Update & New U.S.–China Tariff Escalation

Silver – The market is behaving foolishly at present based purely on the major high and hence psychological level of the last 45 years of 50 US$.

Prices hovering either side of US$50 are, quite frankly, a gift from the heavens . Silver remains poised to surge far higher and quite soon— the next immediate targets are US$60–65, followed by US$78 , but longer-term projections point to many multiples of current prices over the next five years.

After decades of chronic undervaluation, silver is now in the early stages of correcting one of the greatest mis-pricings in modern commodity history . The combination of tightening lease markets, physical scarcity and tightness, and rising industrial demand ensures that this revaluation is only just beginning.

Platinum – Overnight, my contacts in London reported an increasingly alarming situation. Senior traders at the LBMA believe that platinum is set to explode higher within weeks . Chinese buyers, returning from their holidays on Monday, will face virtually no available liquidity in London or Zurich of platinum ingots. The U.S., recognising platinum’s strategic importance, will refuse to release inventory , deepening the squeeze. Supply tightness is now severe and worsening by the day. The next shoe to drop yet again after the silver fiasco is Platinum.

Adding to the geopolitical volatility, President Donald Trump has just announced plans to impose an additional 100% tariff on Chinese goods — on top of the existing 30% , effective November 1st or sooner . This marks a dramatic escalation following months of fragile trade discussions, threatening to reignite global trade tensions and further disrupt industrial supply chains — precisely the kind of shock that could amplify the metals rally already in motion.
