GIBB RIVER HITS 7.8G/T AT WEST GAWLER

Aircore drilling returns a shallow high-grade interval at the newly named West Gawler prospect

Gibb River Diamonds Limited (ASX:GIB) has reported Phase 2 aircore drilling results from mining lease M31/481 at its Edjudina Gold Project in Western Australia.

The program comprised 34 holes for 1,127 metres and was completed between 23 and 26 June. The strongest result came from hole GAC556 at the newly named West Gawler prospect, where shallow mineralisation is supported down-dip by an earlier Gibb River intersection drilled in 2022.

  • GAC556: 4m at 2.23g/t gold from 19m, including 1m at 7.80g/t gold from 19m
  • GAC539: 1m at 2.21g/t gold from 9m
  • GAC552: 8m at 0.86g/t gold from 24m, including 6m at 1.04g/t gold from 24m
  • GAC539: 6m at 0.54g/t gold from 30m
  • GAC536: 7m at 0.35g/t gold from 35m, including 1m at 1.06g/t gold from 35m

The 1m at 7.80g/t result lies up-dip of GAC486, which returned 1m at 8.51g/t gold from 39m in 2022. Gibb River said it is reviewing whether further drilling south of the new intercept will require an Aboriginal heritage survey.

Other planned targets were tested during the program, although the company described the remaining gold mineralisation as lower tenor than anticipated. It attributed the variable response to the boudinaged nature of much of the mineralisation at Edjudina. Reported intervals are down-hole lengths and have not been stated as true widths.
