Step-out drilling confirms the prospective host horizon continues towards Stella beyond the current 309 resource footprint.
GBM Resources Limited (ASX:GBM) has confirmed the prospective Milled Matrix Breccia host horizon extends at least 700 metres south of the 309 Mineral Resource at its Twin Hills Gold Project in Queensland.
The result follows the first holes within the Twin Hills tenure outside the resource to test the host horizon at downhole depths beyond 200 metres. GBM said all four holes drilled at the Stella prospect returned gold mineralisation, although about 60% of the metres drilled there still await assays.
New gold intersections reported from THDH005 include:
- 8 metres at 1.31 g/t gold from 126 metres, including 1 metre at 2.18 g/t gold from 131 metres
- 2 metres at 0.61 g/t gold from 180 metres
THDH004 also returned 6 metres at 0.50 g/t gold from 18 metres. GBM reports these as downhole intervals and says the mineralisation is interpreted to be subvertical, while the relationship between downhole length and true width remains uncertain.
The company has completed about 25,000 metres of Stage 2 resource-development drilling at the 309 and Lone Sister deposits. Approximately 11,500 metres of completed drilling across those deposits is awaiting assay results, with laboratories experiencing reagent shortages, higher sample volumes and staffing constraints.

GBM Resources chief executive officer Daniel Hastings:
A significant outcome from our Stage 2 drilling program has been the recognition that much of the historical drilling across Twin Hills was simply too shallow to adequately test the prospective BXM host sequence. Our improved geological understanding has fundamentally changed the way we view the project. Rather than isolated mineralised bodies, we now recognise a laterally extensive mineralised host sequence extending well beyond the existing 309 MRE.
The Company’s first drilling to adequately test the BXM horizon at Stella has validated this revised geological model, confirming that the highly prospective BXM host unit is interpreted to extend at least 700m south of 309.
Encouragingly, assay results received to date from all four holes have returned gold mineralisation providing early validation of the revised geological model and demonstrating the prospectivity of Stella.
These early results reinforce our confidence that we are testing a substantially larger prospective system than previously recognised and demonstrates the potential for mineralisation to extend beyond the current resource boundaries at Twin Hills.
