New RC drilling and nugget discoveries boost confidence in Red Mountain’s gold exploration
Red Mountain Mining Limited (ASX:RMX) has announced encouraging initial assay results from its ongoing exploration at the Kiabye Gold Project in Western Australia’s Murchison Province. The company’s nine-hole RC drilling campaign has confirmed the presence of auriferous quartz veining and identified promising structural features associated with gold mineralisation.
The standout result from the drilling program came from the Kiabye South prospect, where a hole targeting a north-south trending magnetic structure intersected 2.92g/t Au over 1 metre.
Additional findings from Kiabye North include quartz veining associated with magnetite, with trace levels of gold also detected.
Red Mountain also reported the discovery of six new alluvial gold nuggets at a previously unexplored area known as Prospectors Patch, located in the southeast portion of the Kiabye licence area. The largest nugget weighed 10 grams, with the total weight of the find reaching 13.1 grams. This follows the earlier discovery of eleven nuggets in June 2025 from the Reef 1 area in the project’s north.
Geological mapping at the Prospectors Patch area has identified multiple outcrops of ferruginous and gossanous quartz breccia near a NW-SE trending thrust fault within the Narndee Igneous Complex. These breccias are now being systematically sampled, alongside other outcrops, in an effort to trace the source of the alluvial gold.
