RC drilling confirms continuity of the resource and expands known high-grade zones along strike at the Eureka Gold Project in Western Australia.
Javelin Minerals Limited (ASX:JAV) has reported strong reverse circulation drilling results from its Eureka Gold Project in Western Australia, with new assays confirming the continuity of shallow gold mineralisation along strike from the historic Eureka open pit while also extending known high-grade mineralisation.
The latest drilling supports the existing Mineral Resource of 2.04Mt at 1.69g/t Au for 110,687oz and was largely targeted at areas with lower drill density within 80 metres of surface, confirming mineralised zones inside the planned Eureka open pit cutback.
Among the strongest drill intersections reported were:
- 4m at 2.7g/t Au from 91m (EKRC036)
- 4m at 2.3g/t Au from 52m (EKRC037)
- 5m at 2.1g/t Au from 45m (EKRC022)
- 5m at 2.1g/t Au from 67m (EKRC019)
- 4m at 2.0g/t Au from 64m (EKRC038)
Drilling in the northern extent of the planned Eureka Northwest open pit successfully intersected strong mineralisation, extending the known high-grade zones along strike. The company also reported several near-surface laterite gold intersections, including 8m at 0.9g/t Au from 4m (EKRC018), 3m at 0.9g/t Au from 3m (EKRC008), and 1m at 1.0g/t Au from 1m (EKRC007).
In addition to the RC program, pre-collars have been completed for diamond drill tails that will test the northern extensions of the high-grade mineralisation down plunge, with the main Eureka orebody remaining open to the north and north-west.
Javelin also advised that permitting continues to progress, with the Eureka Water Extraction Permit and Native Vegetation Clearing Approval now granted. Approval of the Mining Development and Closure Plan is in its final stage.
Javelin Executive Chairman Brett Mitchell said:
These results demonstrate the strength of the resource and the scope for further growth.
The drilling returned consistently strong intersections in the top 80m, which shows the excellent continuity of the mineralisation.
It has also succeeded in extending the known mineralisation along strike, highlighting the potential to increase the resource.
The combination of the grade continuity, the extremely shallow nature of the mineralisation and the ongoing upside makes Eureka an increasingly attractive deposit from both a mining and exploration perspective.
