Waratah Minerals confirms strong extensions and new zones across Spur Project
Waratah Minerals Limited (ASX:WTM) has reported encouraging results from its ongoing RC drilling campaign at the Spur Gold-Copper Project in New South Wales, identifying significant high-grade gold extensions and new mineralised zones.
At the Spur prospect, standout intercepts from hole SPRC063 include:
- 50m @ 1.96 g/t Au from 160m
including 23m @ 3.48 g/t Au from 187m
including 8m @ 7.87 g/t Au from 202m
Drilling at Spur South (SPRC052) returned:
- 4m @ 4.62 g/t Au from 90m
- 5m @ 2.50 g/t Au from 158m
At Dalcoath North (SPRC058), results included:
- 7m @ 3.04 g/t Au from 131m
Additionally, SPRC062 at Essex East, a faulted offset of the Dalcoath-Spur trend, intersected:
- 11m @ 1.49 g/t Au from 90m
- 42m @ 0.61 g/t Au from 211m
- 22m @ 0.61 g/t Au from 260m to end of hole
The program is also testing the Breccia West prospect for copper-gold-molybdenum porphyry-style mineralisation.
According to the company, results reinforce the Spur Project’s potential as a district-scale opportunity with multiple high-grade epithermal and porphyry targets within the geologically significant Molong Belt of the Lachlan Fold Belt.
Waratah Managing Director, Peter Duerden, said:
Waratah’s drilling activity is growing the scale and grade potential of epithermal gold mineralisation at the Spur Project. We continue to be encouraged by the results of the ongoing extension drilling programme. Hole SPRC063 has confirmed a southerly plunging control on high-grade gold at Spur, a technical breakthrough which will enable more effective drill targeting
