High-grade results and multiple untested targets boost Leonora gold portfolio
CGN Resources Limited (ASX:CGR) has reported multiple high-grade historical gold intercepts at its newly acquired Panhandle Project, located in Western Australia’s prolific Leonora gold district.
The standout result from historical drilling includes 9m @ 20.2 g/t Au from 61m in hole HWA37, highlighting the project’s strong mineralisation potential within saprolitic zones and highly prospective stratigraphy shared with nearby producing operations.
Best historical intercepts include:
- 9m @ 20.2 g/t Au from 61m (HWA37)
- 5m @ 2.20 g/t Au from 56m (HWA38)
- 4m @ 6.18 g/t Au from 45m (HWA124)
- 4m @ 1.74 g/t Au from 51m (HWA38)
- 5m @ 1.58 g/t Au from 50m (HWRC009)
The Panhandle Project lies strategically between Genesis Minerals’ Ulysses and Gwalia mines, within the same gold-bearing geological corridor. Historical exploration identified several significant intersections at the Pelican Prospect, originally discovered in the mid-1990s. These zones remain largely untested beneath shallow cover.
CGN noted that subsequent deeper drilling intersected primary gold mineralisation consistent with key geological indicators found at major gold systems in the Leonora region.
CGN is rapidly advancing its broader Leonora portfolio, with new target areas also outlined at both the Panhandle and Christmas Well Projects.
