High-grade infill drilling delivers 24.4m at 10.9g/t gold and confirms additional stacked mineralised zones.
Santana Minerals Limited (ASX:SMI; NZX:SMI) has reported further high-grade drilling results from the Rise and Shine (RAS) orebody, with the latest infill hole returning a bonanza-grade intercept that the company says continues to improve confidence in its planned Stage 1 mining area.
Infill hole MDD528 reduced drill spacing to 20 metres and returned a standout intercept of:
- 24.4m at 10.9g/t Au from 165.7m (true width 20.2m)
The hole also intersected two deeper, sub-parallel mineralised zones, including:
- 2.0m at 89.5g/t Au from 197m (true width 1.7m), with abundant visible gold
- 3.0m at 2.5g/t Au from 207m (true width 2.5m)
According to the company, the latest results improve the grade model compared with earlier wider-spaced drilling and confirm the continuation of a high-grade sub-parallel zone at depth that could be accessed from the proposed open pit.
Santana CEO Damian Spring said:
More fantastic results enhancing and further de-risking our first mining area. Every hole we drill into our high-grade core just gets better. We continue however, to wait for the regulators in NZ to deliver our mining consents as expected under the Fast-track Act so this fantastic gold discovery and development option can provide for our shareholders, the community and the prosperity of the Country.
