Underground face sampling identifies the Sister Rose No1 Splay ahead of a late-September drilling campaign.
Black Horse Mining Limited (ASX:BHL) has reported high-grade gold from underground face sampling at the Sister Rose No1 Splay within its Mt Egerton Gold Project in Western Australia.
The structure was exposed in a crosscut from the historic Sister Rose adit. Black Horse said the result supports its interpretation of west-dipping fault lodes alongside the bedding-parallel mineralisation historically mined at Mt Egerton.
Reported results included:
- 0.60m at 10.92g/t gold
- 0.70m at 10.67g/t gold
- Weighted average of 1.3m at 10.79g/t gold
- Historical hole RSE003 returned 2m at 5.13g/t gold from 24m, about 14m below the crosscut

A drill rig is scheduled to mobilise in late September for an approximately 4,000-metre, 10-hole program. The campaign is intended to test the newly defined structural targets and other positions across the project.
Black Horse Mining managing director David Frances:
This latest work has allowed us to unveil some of the secrets Mt Egerton has been hiding for over a century. It has delivered high-grade gold from a structure that was intersected and ignored during historical mining, and it confirms our interpretation that Mt Egerton hosts west-dipping fault lodes alongside the bedding-parallel style — effectively broadening our target inventory across the whole project.
Getting underground has given us the kind of direct structural measurement, and the ability to sample it, that simply cannot be obtained from inherited plans, and with the rig mobilising shortly we intend to put it to use quickly.
