AURUM RESOURCES REPORTS GOLD RECOVERIES EXCEEDING 95% AT BOUNDIALI

Metallurgical testwork highlights strong recovery potential through gravity methods.

Aurum Resources Limited (ASX:AUE) has announced highly encouraging results from metallurgical testwork at its Boundiali Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa, showcasing overall gold recoveries exceeding 95% at a coarse grind.

Key Highlights:

  • Gravity Gold Recovery: Tests revealed that gold can be recovered at 50%-60% using gravity methods with a 106μm grind.
  • Reduced Reagent Use: Leaching on gravity tails reduced lime consumption by 32% and cyanide consumption by 40%, compared to whole-ore leaching.
  • High Overall Recoveries: Combined gravity and leaching methods achieved recovery rates of 95%-99% at 106μm grind.

The company plans to utilise six self-owned diamond rigs at Boundiali in 2025, targeting a 100,000m drilling program. Additionally, Aurum expects to deliver its inaugural Mineral Resource Estimate for the project before the end of 2024.

Managing Director Dr. Caigen Wang said:

We’ve again received excellent outcomes from the latest metallurgical testwork at our Boundiali Gold Project. The results show that we can achieve high gold recoveries exceeding 95%, with a significant portion of the gold recoverable through the cheapest method – gravity separation. This will also reduce the amount of cyanide and lime needed in the leaching circuit by around 32% and 40%, respectively, in what is expected to be a typical gravity concentration and Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) circuit.

With the support of our loyal shareholders we are well-funded and our six rigs continue to drill as we work to unlock the full potential of Boundiali. We’re on track to deliver an inaugural JORC resource for Boundiali before the end of 2024.

Regarding our takeover offer for Mako Gold, we are now past the 70% ownership threshold and have control of the Mako board. This puts us in a strong position to complete the compulsory acquisition process. We encourage remaining Mako Gold shareholders to accept our offer promptly before the offer closes at 7pm AEST on 31 January 2025.
